چکیده
Due to the accelerated climate change, it is anticipated that number and severity of natural disasters such as hurricanes, blizzards, floods will be increased in coming years. In this regard, paper presents a distribution system planning model improve resilience against hurricane. A scenario-based mathematical proposed capture random nature weather events. Moreover, stochastic optimization developed simultaneously harden lines place different types distributed generation (DG) units microturbines (MTs), wind turbines (WTs), photovoltaic cells (PVs). The conditional value at risk (CVaR) used index manage failure scenarios. problem formulated mixed integer linear programming (MILP) can solved by various commercial solvers. Finally, illustrate effectiveness model, implemented on IEEE 33 bus system, case studies are defined. results show our improving resiliency managing risk.

Active Distribution Networks Restoration after Extreme Events
After extreme events such as floods, thunderstorms, blizzards and hurricanes there will be devastating effects in the distribution networks which may cause a partial or complete blackout. Then, the major concern for the system operators is to restore the maximum critical loads as soon as possible by available generation units. In order to solve this problem, this paper provides a restoration s...
متن کاملResilient Distribution System by Forming/coupling Microgrids in Extreme Contigencies
The ability of the distribution system to efficiently withstand low-probability, high-impact events; while enabling a quick recovery and restoration to the normal state is interpreted as resiliency. Microgrids with distributed generation (DG) provide a resilient solution in the case of major faults in a distribution system due to natural disasters. Microgrids could be formed to supply the maxim...
متن کاملAnalysis of Weather Generators: Extreme Events
Stochastic weather generators (WGs) are often used to simulate synthetic weather time series based on observed statistical properties in a particular location. Most studies evaluate WG skill based on average properties. Our objective is to assess how the WGs performs in simulating extremes, especially high precipitation amounts. We analyzed 13 different WGs using two parallel approaches: extrem...

We estimate the effect of extreme weather on life expectancy in the US. Using high frequency mortality data, we find that both extreme heat and extreme cold result in immediate increases in mortality. However, the increase in mortality following extreme heat appears entirely driven by near-term displacement, while the increase in mortality following extreme cold is long lasting. The aggregate e...
